About Tommy Lee Baker Sr.
Tommy Lee Baker Sr. was born on September 2, 1958 to Katie Williams and Joseph Baker. He was one of 8 children. Tommy graduated from H. B Plant High School in Tampa, FL. Tommy met his childhood sweetheart (Helenenor) when he was 16 years old. They then had their 1st child (Tommy Jr.) in 1982. He worked for City of Tampa as a garbage man. Later on in 1983 the couple then had a daughter (Tomika). Helenenor worked for Hillsborough County and in 1986 they had their last and final child (Ebony).
The couple then got married in 1987. Tommy was a huge believer in family. His family mean the world to him. Any and everything that he did from 1986 was about and for his family. Tommy like any other man had obstacles that he had to overcome. He never gave up. Tommy was a very strong man. He was always positive. Tommy became sick with Pancreatic Cancer in 2019. By then he has 12 grandchildren that was there to help aide him in his time of discomfort. With the help of his family he was able to complete rounds of Chemo Therapy and Radiation. Tommy was a fighter even to his last days.
He lived by the motto “GOD GIVES HIS HARDEST BATTLES TO HIS STRONGEST WARRIORS”.
We all questioned why. But Tommy always was in a positive spirit as he will come out on top. Tommy went to be with the LORD on April 11, 2020. He gave his battle his all and as he stated.. “HE IS ON TOP”. Tommy referred to his wife and daughters as “ TOMMY’S ANGELS”. Ebony and Tommy had numerous of talks about spreading awareness about this disease. It was with every ounce of strength in her she wanted to get this Foundation off the ground and rolling. She promised her dad she will spread awareness in his honor. Now 2022 TOMMY’S ANGELS FOUNDATION is born..
